PING Tour Golf Launching Pickleball Paddle Line Soon

Another golf brand is driving head first into the Pickleball space - Ping joins Callaway, Mizuno & PXG. This Arizona based company posted they are looking for a Pickleball Marketing Manager. They have already partnered with a Pickleball pro. St. Louis Shock coach Erik Lange also about it on X & Instagram about the role.

The Pickleball space is huge and golf brands are smart to get into the space with PGA stores across the US already featuring dedicated Pickleball sections. Golf manufacturers have the distribution capabilities and infrastructure but they're missing a big component, a social media presence.

Ping will be building their Pickleball presence online from the pavement up — They may have parked Ping Pickleball but as of right now nothing is showing up to follow and no Pickleball content etc on their other socials or website. I think dropping a paddle at $249 into the space would be a misstep (looking at you Callaway) but we’ll see.

As a side note Pickleball and golf already have a lot in common - you can put top spin and back spin on the ball, you drive the ball, you can get the shanks or the yips, we aim for targets, it’s about angles and sometimes we both Grip it & Rip it. While there are similarities between the two networking sports, it remains to be seen if brand loyal to club makers can translate into using their brands when they hit the courts.
